Residents
of Venezuela's capital of Caracas, as well as representatives from
social movements, worker's unions and other organizations have
mobilized to participate in the Anti-Imperialist March.
The
mass demonstration is a rejection over U.S. President Donald Trump's
recent statement that he was considering “many options for
Venezuela, including a possible military option if necessary”
to solve the nation's internal political affairs, according to AVN.
“With
the objective of protecting its economic interests the United States
has historically spilled blood in the name of liberty and freedom,"
said Elisabeth Bellorin, a public worker. She encouraged viewers to
question, “Up until now, which countries where they've stuck
their noses is currently doing well? None. Palestine, Syria, Iraq,
Libya are examples of death that the empire causes.”
Also
participating in the march was Claudia Echeverria of La Pastora
parish. She said that Venezuelans “will not permit imperialism
to put its claws on our country.”
